We build professional learning for educators: interactive courses, teacher-facing games, and practical challenges grounded in instructional design. Our current focus is the Student Learning Objective (SLO) process. The SLO Boot Camp is in development, and its first game, The Planning Period, is free to play now in early access.

Our philosophy
What does Education. Unfiltered. mean?
We ask teachers to differentiate instruction, engage learners, scaffold difficult concepts, and make learning accessible. Yet when it’s time for teachers to learn, those same principles are often missing from their own professional development. Information gets delivered, boxes get checked, and we’re expected to call that learning.
DreadKnot Juice Press challenges that approach. We develop professional learning experiences that put instructional principles into practice through interactive learning, games, storytelling, and opportunities to apply what is being taught. We believe teachers deserve the same thought, creativity, and consideration they’re expected to bring into their classrooms.
Education. Unfiltered. means removing unnecessary barriers between information and understanding without watering down the substance.
What the research says
The scoreboard
Only about 1 in 9 teachers say their PD workshops improve their teaching to a large extent.
Teachers rate learning with peers as the most useful PD, at 3x the rate of workshops.
Adults trained with simulation games reported 20% higher confidence in their skills than comparison groups.
In five experiments, teacher candidates coached inside a classroom simulator showed large gains in teaching skill.
